JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Part-time Team Member for the 2024 Summer Season

STARTING PAY $11/hr + tips

No experience required.
Paid training.
Bi-monthly pay schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

Able to work in a customer-facing, fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Ensure quality control of menu with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team, and with good multi-tasking skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and serve food, making coffee and tea.
Accurately handle cash, checks, and debit/credit card payments.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings.
Prepare beverages according to our standard operating procedures (i.e. proper proportions of ingredients to provide a consistent product to the customers).
Ensure all areas of the coffee shop are clean and sanitized at the beginning and end of the shift, as well as throughout the day as needed. (ie. Serving area, sitting area, kitchen area, and restrooms).
Workstation must be cleaned thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
Follow health, food safety, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Monitor use-by dates.
Perform pre and post-shift side work, including stocking service stations, etc. Notify team of any shortage.
Vacuum, sweep, mop the coffee shop at the end of the day (as well as during the day as needed).
Taking out the trash during and at the end of the day.
Properly handle and monitor all equipment, and report any equipment failures.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to start the morning shift at 6:30 am.
Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays.
Be available for all shifts of training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work standing and walk for extended periods.
Able to perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Able to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and wipe frequently.
Able to occasionally lift, balance and carry items up to 40 pounds.
Work is primarily indoors but some outdoor work is required (ie. ensure that outdoor trash can is not overflowing by taking the trash bag to the dumpster, and wiping clean the outdoor table and chairs)
